Summer 2019, we’re hoping for a hot one.
This time last year we were writing a post about a hot 2018 summer. Well we got some of it right, the basics were correct, the summer proper in the UK did turn out to be lovely. What we didn’t foresee was the “Beast from the East” that pushed spring by many weeks and caused travel disruption across the country. It had us huddled up indoors rather than enjoying the start of spring.
In the south of the UK we’ve started February this year with snow. But it is the right time of year to get it, and it won’t cause too many problems for the garden. The daffodils that have come through already should shrug off a little snow without too many problems. If there is more snow to come then hopefully it will be done and dusted by March and spring can start.
Once Spring does arrive then it’s time to think about getting your garden and garden furniture ready for the summer ahead. We can’t predict that 2019 has in store but we can hope it’s going to be a long hot summer, hopefully starting with a warm spring.
